Organization

The Retouching the Palaeolithic Conference is organised by members of the MONREPOS Archaeological Research Centre and Museum for Human Behavioural Evolution (Neuwied), Catalonian Institute of Paleoecological Studies and Social Evolution (Tarragona), Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Tarragona) and Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona.

 

Sabine Gaudzinski-Windheuser is the director of the MONREPOS Archaeological Research Center and Museum of Human Behavioural Evolution and professor of Pre- and Protohistorical Archaeology at Johannes Gutenberg–University Mainz.

Alejandro García-Moreno is a postdoctoral researcher at the MONREPOS Archaeological Research Center and Museum of Human Behavioural Evolution.

Jarod Hutson is a postdoctoral researcher at the MONREPOS Archaeological Research Center and Museum of Human Behavioural Evolution.

Elaine Turner is a research scientist at the MONREPOS Archaeological Research Center and Museum of Human Behavioural Evolution.

Aritza Villaluenga is a postdoctoral researcher at the MONREPOS Archaeological Research Center and Museum of Human Behavioural Evolution.

Jordi Rosell is a research member of the Zooarchaeological Department at the Catalonian Institute of Paleoecological Studies and Social Evolution and professor in the University Master’s Degree in Quaternary Archaeology and Human Evolution at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili.

Ruth Blasco is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Prehistory at the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona.

 

Funding for the Retouching the Palaeolithic Conference is provided by the Volkswagen Foundation Symposia and Summer Schools program and the Catalonian Institute of Paleoecological Studies and Social Evolution (IPHES).

The Volkswagen Foundation set up the funding initiative “Symposia and Summer Schools” to support events in all subject areas dealing with new ideas and research approaches. The Foundation also aims to encourage innovative event formats as well as new ways of supporting interaction and networking among the participants.
